Noon, Night and Nettles Across the Land

More reviews! I was planning on doing another outfit post again, but as I've started packing for university and spent my entire day doing chores or in the gym, I'm just wearing my gym bunny clothes, which no one, and I mean no one, needs to have inflicted on them.

Okay, just to make matters more exhausting than they need to be (as is my style), I'm wearing two different sizes here. In the top photo I'm wearing the UK10/US6 and below I'm wearing the UK8/US4. As far as sizing goes, I would say this runs slightly big, hence my sizing down. It is not, though, meant to be a tight fit, it should just skim your figure, which it does really well.
I really liked this dress, much more than I anticipated. I just grabbed this as part of my failing attempt to diversify my reviews from the 1950s housewife pieces I tend to pick up otherwise. The material is really thin, but it didn't feel cheap and I didn't notice any static issues with it. I will say that the armholes were a little deeply cut which is annoying, as it means you're going to be able to see your bra every time you lift your arms.
This is a really quirky and surprisingly flattering dress. I'd like to pick it up but even on first markdown in the UK it's a little expensive for what it is (£90 down from £160), but maybe on second markdown...

I've tried the other colourways of this dress, to no avail, but I'm a sucker for punishment: I keep going back for more. I picked this up in the UK8/US6 - I think. This was the night with free cocktails so I'm afraid things are still a little hazy. Don't judge me.
It looks as though, dare I say, that the sizing issues have been... fixed? Sure, there's still a ferocious amount of cleavage going on, but it's not quite so gape-y in front. With some fashion tape this would probably be ready to go, in my case. I still recommend sizing down, but just once, as opposed to the two dress sizes I had to drop in the original black colourway just to stop my bra from being seen.
I like the pattern of the dress much more in person than I do online: in person it comes across more like a tartan print, like I might be off to toss a caber or two.
I'm torn on this, on the one hand, it's a flattering fit (at last!) and the print is cute, on the other, do I really need another dress like this? Plus, until the last couple of days I'd forgotten how much I liked it, which probably says it all. If it made it to second markdown I might pick it up, otherwise I think I'm going to stay strong.

Do you ever feel like you're just not getting the excitement about a certain Anthro piece? I once talked about my weird natural instinct to dislike pieces that people were 'cooing over like demented pigeons' and I find myself returning to that state of mind tonight. I loved the way this piece was styled in the catalogue photos, but on it's own I feel a bit like... meh?
I'm wearing a small here, which fit well throughout the bodice, though I thought there was an inordinate amount of butt poof going on round the back. I would still say this runs TTS as the size up was too roomy on me.
In the UK the burgundy is the only colour available at the moment, and it's a lovely shade - it'll go with much more in your cupboard than you think it will. I'm never a huge fan of the waffle knit that Anthro uses in these kind of dresses, but it seemed nice enough.
This is a pass for me, as I'm still not feeling the love, though I admit that the gold version has caught my eye, so maybe it'll get me in the end.

Glee is back on in the States tonight, I understand. I can't wait to see what Quinn and Emma Pilsbury are wearing - squee. Is it wrong that whenever they wear an Anthro piece I want to buy it? Even if I wasn't a huge fan of it before?

No, no, you look fab in the noon and night! Very flattering and great color. Matches your lipstick even!
